Christian grew up in a non-Christian home and his parents divorced when he was young. He saw religion as crutch for weak people and knew nothing of Jesus until he graduated from high school. A friend gave him a Bible and challenged him with scriptures of prophecy and the gospel. Christian gave his life to Christ that summer. A few summers later he went on a short term mission trip to Haiti and that experience confirmed to him God’s calling in his life to live cross culturally and share the gospel.

Amy grew up in a Christian home. Her church experience left her disillusioned with God and his church. After spending a year in France as an exchange student God challenged her about who he truly is. She gave herself fully to the Lord her senior year of high school (even if that meant working in an overseas ministry.)

Christian and Amy met in college and were married in 1995. In 2004, after having 5 kids, the Listro family moved to Michigan so Christian could train to be a missionary pilot. While in MI God placed a passion in their hearts for his church. To see it grow and reproduce. To see it minister to its members and watch God transform lives through it. Overseas ministry took on a new vision of church planting instead of aviation.

The Listro family joined South America Mission in 2007 to serve the church in Peru; sharing the gospel and planting reproducing churches among the unreached middle-class. We see our role as one of teacher/mentor/discipler for this rapidly growing church plant. We also hope to infuse a vision for outreach and eventually help another team plant other healthy, reproducing churches in Peru and elsewhere in South America.

Our children attend the SAM Academy here in Pucallpa with the addition of some home schooling. Amy helps with the Academy and teaching the children.
